Three generations of flooring, put online properly
Remnant City has been selling carpet, area rugs, luxury vinyl, and flooring in Pittsburgh since 1970. It is a family business, now three generations in, with two full floors of showroom and a reputation locally as the Home of the Rug Bug.
Their advantage is the sort of thing that is easy to feel in the showroom and hard to convey online: the person who measures your floor is the person who installs it, they buy in bulk so the price is right, and they can cut a custom rug in any shape you can sketch.
None of that was coming across. People were also arriving with the same questions over and over, which is a sign that a website is not doing its share of the work.
We built the site around what they sell and what people ask. Product areas for carpet, rugs, and vinyl, an inventory section, and a set of buying guides that answer the recurring questions before someone has to phone and ask.
The custom rug service gets real space, because it is the thing customers are most surprised to learn they can do and the thing least likely to be offered by a big box store.
Staff can edit the site themselves. Inventory moves, and a showroom's website is wrong the moment it can only be updated by an agency.
Buying guides handle the questions the showroom was fielding by phone all day, which frees the staff for the customers actually standing in front of them.
Custom rugs cut to any shape are the hardest thing for a competitor to match, so the site leads with it rather than listing it.
Inventory and pages update from a browser, so what is online reflects what is on the floor.
Every project here started with a conversation about what the business actually needed. Yours can start the same way.
